ImageBetty Pion was experiencing intense shoulder pain at home. After Betty’s consultation from orthopedic surgeon, Dr. David Paul J. Almdale, she was informed of her need for both shoulders to be replaced. Betty’s daughters, Sharon Bryan & Patty Brotherson, suggested that Betty complete her inpatient rehabilitation at Heritage Park because of the great care that Betty’s husband had received five years prior. After her successful right shoulder replacement, Betty selected Heritage Park to obtain her range of motion through therapy services. Betty stated, "Heritage Park is my home away from home!! All of the therapists work so hard with the residents each and every day. Adrienne Donze, PTA and Renecer Beachum, COTA kept pushing and encouraging me during every therapy session. When I was admitted, I could barely move my arm away from my body. I couldn’t even put an earring in my left ear. [As she lifts her right arm over her head] Look at me now! This is what good therapy does! In six months, I am going to get my left shoulder replaced and I’m already excited to come back to Heritage Park to see Adrienne, Renecer and the other wonderful staff members!"

When asked about her mother’s experience at Heritage Park, Sharon stated, "My mother did exceptionally well due to the excellent staff catering to all of the resident’s needs. The staff could not have been any nicer to her. Our family has always been very satisfied with Heritage Park."

Heritage Park is thankful for having the opportunity to work with Betty on her journey to independence. We wish her continued success and look forward to seeing her in six months!!
ImageAfter experiencing a total right knee replacement preformed by Dr. Harris at ONE, David Vining was informed that he was going to need assistance following the surgery. Due to Mrs. Vining working full time, she began to tour facilities that would be able to meet David’s needs while he was recovering from surgery. Mrs. Vining selected Heritage Park with the confidence that her husband was going to get the therapy he needed to regain his mobility and strength to return home in a short period of time.

When David arrived at Heritage Park, he was not expecting all the assistance he ended up needing. "The nurses and therapists were very nice. They treated me well every day. Since the team knew I wanted to get back home as soon as possible, I did therapy 7 days a week for two weeks. I returned home very successfully and continued out-patient therapy at Heritage Park.

Dr. Harris and my family were very pleased with my progress. I would recommend Heritage Park to anyone that needs in-patient therapy. Dr. Harris explained that I have a couple years left on my left knee before I will need to replace that one as well. Therefore, I will be back at Heritage Park in a couple years and look forward to seeing the staff again!"

Heritage Park is thankful for having the opportunity to work with David on his recovery from surgery and renewed journey to independence. We wish him continued success!!
ImagePatricia Stetler planned a surgery on her hip and she was faced with the decision of where to receive in-patient therapy to regain her independence upon her return home. Previously, Patricia’s father and brother-in-law were both residents at Heritage Park in the past and Patricia loved the care she witnessed during both stays. Therefore, this wasn’t a difficult decision at all for Patricia to choose an in-patient rehabilitation facility!

Due to Patricia’s medication, she was disoriented when she arrived at Heritage Park. Patricia stated, “ The staff was wonderful at reassuring me that I was here to be helped in therapy and that’s exactly what they did! My therapists, Becky and Renecer, were both excellent and encouraging. This is such a great in-patient rehabilitation facility and I cannot recommend Heritage Park enough!" Heritage Park is thankful for having the opportunity to work with Patricia on her journey to independence. We wish her continued success!!"
ImageWhen Martha arrived at Heritage Park for short-term rehabilitation to regain strength, her length of stay became uncertain. Martha’s goals and determination along with the guidance from her therapist was a perfect combination to get Martha back home! Martha said, "When I would get down on myself, my therapists would encourage me to keep going. They are simply terrific! I have worked hard and I’m so excited about going home!"

During Martha’s stay her family fell in love with Heritage Park as well. Martha’s daughter, Marcia, had this to say about Heritage Park, "My mother wasn’t walking when she was admitted and now she can walk with a walker and is able to come home! I truly appreciate the way my mother was taken care of. When she was first admitted, we didn’t know if she was going to have to stay long-term but she started to thrive at Heritage Park. My mom tells me there are things to do all day long. I love all of the open areas for residents to gather, compared to other nursing home communities I have seen. Heritage Park is life! I mean that from the bottom of my heart!"

Martha is a shining star at Heritage Park and has graduated from the Moving Forward Rehabilitation therapy program. Heritage Park is thankful for having the opportunity to work with Martha on her journey to independence. We wish her continued success!
ImageBruce Kern came to Heritage Park having difficulty with his mobility and activities of daily living. Bruce’s family used to call him "shuffily" due to not being able to pick up his feet while he walked. After participating in Heritage Park’s Moving Forward therapy program, Bruce’s family can no longer call him “shuffily” because of the increased strength in his mobility that Bruce has gained.

Bruce stated, "When I came to Heritage Park, I could barely walk and was unable to dress myself. Now I can do both!!" Bruce’s son, Rodney laughed, "If there was a problem with my father’s stay at Heritage Park, I would have heard all about it. All my dad talked about was how nice the staff was and how well they treated him. I know that every time I asked the staff a question, they would stop what they were doing to help me. I was very pleased with Heritage Park."

Due to Bruce’s hard work and determination, Bruce was able to return home with his son. Heritage Park truly appreciates the opportunity to work with Bruce and wishes him continued success!
ImageMary Blevins came to Heritage Park with generalized weakness due to medical complications. Mary was quite frustrated that she could barely walk. Now that Mary is able to walk 200 ft, Mary states, "I owe the new strength in my arms and legs to my physical and occupational therapists. The therapists are just great here! The other residents in the therapy gym were my inspirations. It’s a relief to know you aren’t the only one in this situation and to see others working hard for the same goal of returning home. It keeps you going. I would truly recommend Heritage Park to any of my friends and loved ones." Mary became tearful at the thought of leaving her therapists who she has grown to love, but is delighted to be going home.

Mary’s son, Steven, stated, "Therapy was GREAT! If it weren’t for your staff, my mother would not be as successful as she is at home. The family is just thrilled to have her back on her feet again. Heritage Park truly provided exceptional care to my mother."

Heritage Park is thankful for having the opportunity to work with Mary on her journey to independence. We wish her continued success!!
ImageTawfik Elswerky came to Heritage Park with overall weakness and shortness of breath. Physical Therapist, Donna Sabarillo, and COTA, T.J. Jackson, encouraged and supported Tawfik to regain his strength and independence to be able to return home safely. After participating in Heritage Park’s "Moving Forward” therapy program, Tawfik will be returning home and has the opportunity to continue being a wonderful grandfather to 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Tawfik stated, "Heritage Park is my family! The people that work there are very nice and helpful.” Tawfik now feels stronger all over with improvement of his breathing and has the confidence to return home knowing that he will be ok! Tawfik’s son reported, "My dad has had excellent care and LOVED it at Heritage Park and all the people!"

Heritage Park is thankful for having the opportunity to work with Tawfik on his journey to independence. We wish him continued success!!

Dorothy spent ten weeks in Heritage Park’s Moving Forward Rehabilitation program. She worked with our talented Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy teams and achieved all of her goals.
